The left’s obsession with coddling criminals has officially reached new heights. Just look at the latest hand-wringing from New Jersey’s liberal governor, Mikie Sherrill. Instead of standing up for America’s heroes—the very soldiers who defend our freedom—she’s busy worrying about the “dignity” of a mass murderer in a wheelchair. That’s right. Instead of justice for the victims at Fort Hood, Democrats are more concerned about how it might look when justice finally comes knocking.
Rather than focus on honoring the brave men and women who lost their lives, liberal politicians twist the story into a spectacle about the convicted shooter’s physical condition. Are we really supposed to pause for a moment of sympathy because he happens to be in a wheelchair now? Since when do the feelings of a domestic terrorist outweigh those of the American soldiers he slaughtered? Under left-wing leadership, criminal comfort comes before accountability, every single time.
Let’s set the record straight. Soldiers weren’t trained to hesitate when evil threatens our nation. But now, thanks to progressive pandering, troops get mixed messages about enforcing the law because they “might look cruel” shooting a criminal who’s disabled. That’s the kind of twisted logic you get from the same people trying to erase American greatness and push globalist agendas. Instead of justice, it’s always pity for the perpetrator and a slap in the face to every family waiting for closure.
Sherrill and her pals are so terrified of a few viral images that they’d rather upend the entire justice system. Apparently, the answer is to cancel public accountability—don’t let anyone see what real consequences look like. All because liberals can’t stomach the reality of what happens when evil is confronted head-on. Pathetic. They never hesitate to parade victims when it suits their purpose, but suddenly it’s too harsh when a criminal faces what’s coming to him.
This is what happens when progressives run the show: chaos, cowardice, and a warped sense of right and wrong. American soldiers deserve better. The families of Fort Hood deserve better. Justice needs a backbone—not another lecture from some soft-handed politician who’s more worried about optics than the truth. Maybe if liberals spent half as much time defending our country as they do defending criminals, we wouldn’t be in this mess at all.
If this is what the left calls “compassion,” then the country is in deeper trouble than anyone thought.
