For years, Americans have been told that securing the border is an impossible task. The left pretends that chaos at the southern border is just something we need to accept. But look at the facts: this past year, illegal crossings on the southwest border fell to the lowest level in the entire history of the United States for a twelve-month period. The numbers don’t lie, even though politicians do.

Border apprehensions dropped a jaw-dropping 95%. Let that sink in. Where was this urgency and competence all those times Democrats said a secure border was out of reach? The truth is that America never had to put up with lawless open borders. Our leaders simply chose not to protect us. Why? Because globalists and leftist bureaucrats care more about pleasing their donor class and importing future voters than actually doing their jobs for the American people.

All over the country, families have suffered because of drug trafficking, human smuggling, and the violence that pours in every day. Washington’s elites looked the other way, more concerned about their cocktail parties and virtue signaling than defending our sovereignty. But now, with the border shut tighter than ever before, it’s crystal clear: border security isn’t a wish—it’s a matter of willpower.

There will always be excuses from the progressive crowd. They claim the border’s “too big” or “impossible” to control. But when faced with pressure, suddenly, the border can be tamed after all. Funny how that works. Maybe they thought no one would notice when the numbers dropped as soon as real enforcement showed up?

Americans deserve to know—was this level of border protection always possible, and if so, why did the liberal establishment refuse to deliver? If politicians had acted years ago, how much pain could have been avoided? Maybe the answer has nothing to do with “compassion” and everything to do with political power plays and backroom deals.

So now that we’ve seen what’s possible, what excuse do the open borders crowd have left? If protecting America is “controversial,” maybe it’s time to start asking why the left wants America unsecured in the first place.
