Massachusetts Democrat Double Standard Exposed as GOP Candidate Quits Over OUI Scandal

Massachusetts is at it again. The so-called “progressive” state can’t seem to get its act together, even when it comes to its own candidates. This time, it’s a Republican in the spotlight—Shawn Oliver, who was their choice for Lieutenant Governor. He just pulled the plug on his campaign after getting slapped with an OUI in New Bedford. Is this really what it takes to survive in Massachusetts politics, where the left’s failures sweep through town and drag everyone else down?

It’s impossible not to notice the double standards at play here. When a conservative gets in trouble, the media and the liberal establishment break out the torches and pitchforks before the facts even cool down. But when it’s one of their own? They circle the wagons, write mushy apologies, or worse—act like nothing happened. There is never any real accountability for the left in deep-blue states like Massachusetts. It’s only conservatives who get hung out to dry.

Let’s not kid ourselves—Massachusetts voters see a one-party system propped up by coastal elites who want nothing more than to keep globalist, out-of-touch policies alive. This whole circus proves it. The so-called “champions of democracy” love it when conservatives falter, then pat themselves on the back as if they invented integrity. Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for a single Democrat to step aside after corruption or disgraceful behavior. Don’t hold your breath.

Shawn Oliver made a mistake. He took responsibility. That’s what the right does—we own our errors. Unlike the left, who spin and twist reality to stay in the game. Maybe if Massachusetts wasn’t run by a political machine, honest candidates wouldn’t face these impossible double standards. The left practically wrote the book on hypocrisy and forced everyone else to read it.

This state deserves better. Until Massachusetts voters wake up and toss out the entrenched liberal leadership, it’ll be more of the same—failures, scandals, and a political class that would rather point fingers than clean up their own mess. Here’s a thought: If the left ever held themselves to the same standard, would there be anyone left in office?
