The truth about inflation the media hides how Big Government is robbing your wallet every day

Americans can’t stop talking about inflation. Every time someone goes to the grocery store, fills up their tank, or tries to rent an apartment, the price shocks are front and center. The media pushes endless panic about the “basket of goods.” Milk is up, eggs are up, gas is through the roof. It’s no wonder families are feeling squeezed. But what nobody in the left-wing press wants to admit is this: the real villain isn’t just rising sticker prices – it’s Big Government.

While Bernie Sanders and his socialist cronies chase after billionaires, shouting about “oligarchs,” the true oligarchy is sitting right under our noses—our own government. Federal, state, and local politicians keep their hands in every American’s pocket, and unlike when you shop for steak or cereal, there’s no escape from their taxes and fees. When the city jacks up property taxes, when the state piles on new fees, when the feds come for even more of your paycheck, you can’t just buy less government “product.” You’re on the hook, no matter what.

Gavin Newsom and the Democrat elite know this game well. They don’t mind hammering Americans with taxes at the federal level, but act shocked when people flee their blue-state tax hells for places like Texas or Florida. At least, in America, you can still move if you can’t stand high state or local taxes. Try escaping federal overreach—good luck. The cost of government is everywhere, hidden in every phone bill, every gallon of gas, every bite you eat.

Here’s the dirty secret: inflation stats like the Consumer Price Index only measure part of the story. The numbers don’t even count federal and state income taxes, payroll robbery by Social Security, or the countless “hidden” taxes loaded onto household bills. The real crisis is affordability. Families get a pay raise, see official inflation reports mellow out, and still can’t get ahead—because government takes more out of every paycheck, every year. It’s a rigged game, and the politicians are the house.

Meanwhile, as liberals dream up bigger government “solutions,” they’re really making the problem worse. President Trump made big strides toward shrinking bureaucratic waste—just look at his push to cut bloated agencies—but the swamp howled. Too many Americans have been tricked into thinking that more government means more help. In reality, it means more control, and less freedom to spend your hard-earned money as you see fit.

Instead of obsessing over the price tag on eggs, conservatives say it’s time to measure the true cost—the suffocating expense of runaway government. When will the ruling class answer for strangling affordability, not just through inflation, but by hijacking more and more of our paychecks? Maybe the next time a liberal screams about “income inequality,” we should demand they start with the most powerful oligarch in America: Government itself.
