Europe’s Bureaucrats Are Bleeding Taxpayers Dry—And America Should Pay Attention
The bureaucrats in Brussels are on a wild shopping spree, and they’re not using their own money—they’re reaching deeper into the pockets of hard-working European families and their children. The European Union now plans to jack up its budget nearly 70 percent, rocketing from €170 billion to €285 billion a year. That’s not just reckless spending; it’s fiscal insanity. This isn’t “governing”—it’s a full-scale cash grab by the permanent political class, hell-bent on turning the EU into a debt-addicted superstate.
And what are they buying with this mountain of borrowed money? Not jobs, not prosperity, not a safer future. No, Brussels is funneling seven hundred billion euros down the drain for the next phase of their “green” revolution—a bottomless pit of boondoggles designed to satisfy climate zealots and keep the army of civil servants busy. Their latest scheme? Burying captured carbon dioxide under the sea, all so they can pat themselves on the back for “saving the planet,” while real industries get strangled and families watch their cost of living balloon.
It only gets worse. The EU wants to inflate its military budget, pouring another one hundred thirty-one billion euros into a top-down “defense union.” This isn’t about protecting citizens. It’s about centralizing more power in Brussels, with unelected elites calling the shots. Meanwhile, regular Europeans wrestle with the fallout—rising taxes, soaring inflation, and crippling energy bills driven by the Green New Deal on steroids.
Political leaders, especially from Germany, put on a show acting tough about fiscal discipline. They posture for the cameras, demanding “cuts” that are nothing but smoke and mirrors. Even when smaller countries propose modest reductions in the budget fantasy, the reality is the EU will still spend over 50 percent more than before. It’s a shell game, and taxpayers are left footing the final bill.
But why should Americans care? Because the same mentality driving Brussels—the lust for centralized power, reliance on endless debt, and blind faith in failed green policies—is alive and well among the globalist left here at home. Our own politicians borrow from the EU playbook, pushing massive spending, punishing energy taxes, and handing more control to unaccountable bureaucrats. Europe is showing us exactly where this path leads: weaker economies, disfigured landscapes, and generations shackled to the debts of political “visionaries” who never pay the price for their mistakes.
The only question is, how much more abuse will citizens take before the gravy train derails for good? If Americans want to avoid Brussels-style disaster, it’s time to call out these big-government schemes for what they are—a suicidal scam that leaves the people poorer and the elites richer. The party can’t last forever, no matter how many subsidies they shovel out. Europe’s bureaucrats may not care, but the voters will—if it’s not too late.
