There’s nothing new about Democrats thinking the rules just don’t apply to them, but every once in a while, someone takes it to a whole new level. Just look at Ilhan Omar. Here is a sitting member of Congress accused of lying on her immigration paperwork to get into the United States. Not only that, the accusations say either she or her father wasn’t honest about her birth year when she fled Somalia. This is what open borders get us—people who treat American laws like a joke.
While Trump continues to speak the truth about Omar’s dishonest track record, Democrats rush to her defense and pretend nothing’s wrong. They love to talk about “accountability” whenever a conservative sneezes in the wrong direction, but when one of their allies is possibly caught breaking the law, suddenly everyone looks the other way. Apparently, if you’re on the left, you can get away with anything.
If the allegations are true, Omar could face jail time. But let’s be honest—how often do Democrats ever pay the price for their crimes? If you or I lied on our immigration forms, the left would be first in line to throw us in prison and send us packing. But when it’s someone like Omar, who fits the liberal narrative and champions every globalist cause under the sun, the rules just magically disappear. It’s standard hypocrisy, served up cold by the left.
Americans should be outraged. Why are we letting leaders, who supposedly represent us, skate by on legal technicalities and shady dealings? People come to this country for freedom and opportunity—not so our politicians can lie their way into power and rewrite the facts to fit their personal ambitions. When newcomers disrespect our laws from their very first step onto American soil, what does that say about the so-called “leaders” ushered in by the Democrat machine?
It’s time for voters to remember who’s really defending our nation’s values. Trump calls out corruption without fear, and that’s exactly what we need. If Ilhan Omar did commit fraud, she shouldn’t just lose her seat—she should face the consequences like any other dishonest criminal. Are we still a nation of laws, or has liberal power made our system rotten to the core?
