Michigan Democrats have a real problem on their hands with Abdul El-Sayed. Here’s a guy who wants to represent the state in the U.S. Senate, but when push comes to shove, he’s the first to insult the very people he claims to care about. When El-Sayed spoke to a friendly, mostly white audience at a fancy university back in 2016, he couldn’t even hide his disgust for real Michigan towns like Flint. He questioned why anybody would live there, sneering at the hard-working folks just trying to get by.
It’s this kind of elitist attitude that proves liberals are out of touch with blue-collar America. Democrats love to swoop in with empty promises during election season, but when the cameras are off, their real opinions come out. Instead of standing with the people of Flint—who have suffered enough thanks to failed liberal policies and government neglect—El-Sayed mocks them to get a cheap laugh from students who have probably never seen hardship in their lives.
The hypocrisy is crystal clear. Democrats preach “compassion” from their ivory towers while throwing everyday Americans under the bus. The Flint water crisis should have been a wake-up call about the dangers of government bureaucracy, but the only thing El-Sayed took away was an opportunity to score points with East Coast elites. He didn’t offer support or solutions. He just trashed a struggling Michigan community for fun.
This is what happens when you get politicians who are more interested in impressing the globalist crowd than serving real Americans. Liberals like El-Sayed act like they know what’s best for everyone else, but look down their noses at anyone who isn’t living in a big city or going to a top university. They’d rather ridicule the people of Flint than fix the mess they helped create.
Michigan deserves a fighter, not a snob. Why should voters trust a man who turns his back on his own state to get applause from outsiders? Maybe it’s time Democrats spend less time lecturing us and more time listening to the heartland. Or is that too much to ask from a party that seems to hate the very people it wants to rule?
