Woke insanity has finally struck again—this time at a humble New York City bagel shop. That’s right, the left’s latest outrage centers on… a toasted bagel. You can’t make this stuff up. Instead of enjoying their breakfast and minding their business, some so-called “influencer” took it upon themselves to accuse a local bagel shop’s mascot—an innocent, toasted bagel—of “blackface.” Yes, apparently a browned piece of bread is now enough to send liberal activists into a panic.
For generations, bagels have been as New York as the Statue of Liberty. But thanks to hypersensitive liberals, these very same bagels are suddenly problematic if they have a little color from the toaster. It doesn’t matter that countless New Yorkers, from all backgrounds, love their bagels golden and toasted. None of it matters to the new morality police, always scanning the world for something—anything—to be offended by.
Here’s the heart of the matter: this isn’t about social justice or real racism. It’s about control. It’s about pushing everyday Americans around and making them second-guess every harmless detail of daily life. No one in their right mind could mistake a toasted bagel for a hateful symbol. But when power-hungry “influencers” want to flex, they bully hardworking small businesses into submission. And, predictably, the shop had to cave in and ditch its poor, toasted mascot, all to appease the perpetually outraged.
Why do we keep letting radical voices dictate the rules for the rest of us? This is the same crowd that’ll let crime soar on city streets, but will drop everything to punish a breakfast treat. They despise anything that feels traditional, American, or even vaguely fun—unless, of course, it can be spun as “oppressed.” Bagels for everyone? Not if the Twitter mob is watching.
Only in today’s America could a toasted bagel get canceled. Next thing you know, they’ll be demanding we serve them raw—or just ban breakfast altogether. Liberals used to tell us to “think outside the box,” but now they’ll lock us in one if we dare to enjoy our food the wrong way. When will this madness end? Maybe when regular people decide that breakfast—and sanity—are worth defending.
