Lawmakers move to stop dangerous green card lottery that puts American lives at risk

America’s immigration system is already broken, but leave it to the left to make it even worse with their favorite open-border schemes. The so-called “green card lottery” is, without question, one of the most dangerous programs out there. It hands out citizenship like candy at Halloween—not because of merit, hard work, or loyalty to America, but because the computer randomly picked your name. Is this really how a superpower should determine who gets to live here?

Thankfully, some lawmakers still care more about American safety than pleasing globalist elites and Silicon Valley donors. A Texas Republican is stepping up, pushing a bill to end this absurd lottery. No more rolling the dice with our national security. If only Democrats cared half as much about protecting American families as they do about letting in strangers from around the world.

The evidence for repealing this clown-show of a program couldn’t be clearer. Just look at what happened last year: the alleged shooter involved in the tragedies at Brown University and MIT got into the country through this exact lottery system. A Portuguese national—completely unknown to us—entered the United States not because he could contribute, but because he won the globalist jackpot. Innocent lives lost, and for what? So liberals can pat themselves on the back for their so-called “diversity”?

The Trump administration saw this coming a mile away. President Trump tried to shut down the green card lottery, but the left cried “racism” instead of admitting to their insane negligence. How many more Americans have to pay the price before progressives drop the act and admit these policies put us all in danger?

Americans aren’t stupid. We know when politicians are gambling with our safety just to feel good about their own twisted sense of fairness. If merit and loyalty don’t matter anymore, what did we even build this country for? Maybe it’s time the left stopped playing with people’s lives and started acting like America actually means something.
