It’s gotten out of hand. America’s young women are diagnosing themselves with the most absurd, wild mental disorders and parading them like trophies on social media. Mental illness isn’t just about real suffering anymore—now, it’s a badge of honor for far too many. Thanks to a culture obsessed with treating victims like heroes, young women are tripping over themselves to claim trauma top spots. Liberal elites push this trend, telling girls to define themselves by weakness, not strength.
Let’s be honest: there was a time when struggling with mental health meant seeking help and getting better. Today, for many, it’s all about the performance—crafting an online identity soaked in drama and dysfunction. They scroll TikTok or Instagram and cling to labels. Obsessive-compulsive disorder, borderline personality, dissociative identity—the more “insane” the diagnosis sounds, the more clicks and social points. The left encourages this circus, teaching teens and twenty-somethings to live inside their problems and milk them for attention, validation, even a bit of social power.
Meanwhile, real mental illness isn’t fashionable. Liberals love to talk about “stigma”—but all they’ve done is swap one kind of stigma for another. If you don’t declare yourself “neurodivergent,” you’re boring and invisible. If you act healthy and normal, you’re told you just don’t “get it.” The globalist media, eager for ad dollars, amplifies these stories about “traumatized teens,” painting them as both tragic and inspirational. This is weakness turned into a lifestyle.
Let’s not forget: the old American values of grit and hard work have gone missing. Instead of building resilience, our culture shoves young people into echo chambers of complaint. Conservative voices that dare to question this trend get shut down or labeled “out of touch.” But what’s more out of touch than telling young women their anxiety or sadness is a calling card, not a problem to solve? Liberals claim to stand for empowerment, but they sell fragility as the highest virtue.
Parents, teachers, and anyone who cares about the next generation should see this train wreck for what it is. The left says it’s “compassion,” but it’s just rot—encouraging American youth to wallow in victimhood rather than reach for greatness. The endgame? A country where more people want to be “sick” than healthy, and the only thing worth celebrating is how unwell you can pretend to be. How did we let it get this crazy?
